Synchronicity: a ‘chance’ meeting

Synchronicity: I talk about this in my book, Life Matters, and I still experience it to this day. When I trust in the Universe and let go of trying to control outcomes, life flows more freely.

The events of this morning are a perfect example – let me explain.

Mole and I went for our usual walk around the village and just happened to bump into our good friends, Jo and her dog, Maisie on the playing fields. Jo just happened to be walking with a neighbour of mine, Cynthia, who I hadn’t formally met before but who I recognised from seeing her on our dog walks. Having been introduced, the three of us and our dogs all went to the village café for a coffee and natter.

Well, it turns out that Cynthia and I are of a similar age and both widowed. The first story Cynthia shared was the fact she and her husband had had similar challenges with getting a diagnosis and referral through their GP as Ian and I had – in fact, we had shared the same GP. We've lived in the village the same number of years – we share a love of dogs and horses – and we have several mutual local contacts. It even turns out that a car I kept passing a few years ago which had a distinctive and memorable number plate, had been her later father’s.

We've now exchanged numbers, so we can support each other as we continue to rebuild our lives after significant loss. #lifematters #serendipity #letgoandletlifeflow
