Here’s what Kathryn’s readers have said…

Took my breath away in a lovely, inspiring way. So much of it rings true to anyone who has been faced with heartbreaking loss and is such a comfort it that it makes you feel you are not alone in how you are feeling and what you are going through.

The most wonderful rendition of a life filled with so much love, joy, sadness and grief and how animals can help you overcome anything that life throws your way! I have always found solace and healing in my love of animals but never seen it written about in such an honest, emotional and truly inspiring way.

Thank you, Kathryn, for sharing your story – it resonates for both the person grieving and the person watching their friends and family grieve. Honesty, integrity, and bravery shine through in every word.

An honest, thought-provoking account of grief, which is a seemingly never-ending roller coaster ride in which you have to find your own way. Kathryn has clearly found so much to help her find her path through the maelstrom.

A personal and very moving account of the author’s life after the sudden death of her husband. Her love for complementary therapies and beloved animals shine through, using them to help rebuild her life. I was moved to tears – both sadness and joy.

I am in awe of the way Kathryn writes from the heart of her journey leading up to and beyond her husband’s passing. Touching and insightful, loaded with resource ideas; I highly recommend this book and any others that may hopefully follow!

Very moving and inspirational; bit of a lightbulb moment for me, also. Full of good advice
I completely recommend this read.

A very open and emotional story that will make you cry but also make you smile and feel inspired – thought-provoking too. A good book to read during moments of struggle in your life as you will see that there is a better place just waiting for you.

Inspiring – touching – heartbreaking and ultimately comforting. Kathryn captures it all and takes your heart for a ride. Highly recommended for its warmth and triumph.

A warm, open account of the author’s story. At times absolutely heart-rending, at others – life affirming.

Such a heartfelt book and a moving read. It had me in tears and also made me think about life, following a very sad loss we had in our family. Thank you, Kathryn.

Brilliant book, sad and happy in places. A great telling of sorrow and happiness.

Beautifully written book that really touches your soul. Thank you, Kathryn, for having the courage to write it. I am sure it will help many people during their heartache.

Beautifully written, heartbreaking, enlightening and empowering, I feel privileged to have been able to read this story. I am Mole’s biggest fan.

An amazingly written book by such a talented lady, especially after losing her husband and soulmate, written from the heart. I read it in two evenings; had me gripped, very emotional.

Fantastic book – one to make you stop and think and/or source of practical help, plus a good read –

couldn’t put it down.

A very moving and inspiring story.

What a superbly written book. So helpful and yet enjoyable at all times. Would be lovely to have a follow-up book.

From the dizzy heights of happiness being married to her soulmate and living life to the full; to the heartbreak she endured as her world came crashing down when her husband was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour, Kathryn documents the devastating struggle she had coming to terms with widowhood at a young age. This story is told from the heart, and, as such, the words flow effortlessly from her pen. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book, which, at times, moved me to tears. I heartily recommend this book: a story of an inspirational woman who followed her dreams and overcame adversity.

I could relate to so many aspects of Kathryn’s book. Although I haven’t lost a husband, I have lost family sooner than I should have done and this book has made me look at the way I handled grief There were so many parallels such as enjoying horse riding from a young age and the love of animals which just gets stronger as I get older and how friends have been my ‘angels’ but equally how I realized that you only have one life and it’s up to you to make the best of it. Well done Kathryn for sharing your experience...it made me laugh, smile and also cry.

A genuine and honest account of how you can get through the very worst of times; a must-read for anyone who has an involvement with horses, been in love, suffered grief, keeps an open mind to healing or just enjoys a compelling read.

Having also lost my husband to cancer I read Life Matters expecting to sob my way through it, but instead have found it to be such an uplifting and inspiring story. Sharing Kathryn’s journey has helped to make sense of my own and has given me the courage and determination needed to achieve some of my own goals.

This is a very real and very moving account. How brave to write this book and I’m so glad she did. A story of love, heartbreak, grief and ultimately rebuilding her life with the support of loved ones, animals and alternative therapies.

A truly inspiring author writes from the heart her very moving account of losing her best friend and soulmate – but after hitting rock bottom with a completely broken heart this amazing lady finds the determination to try to focus on the positive things in life. A brilliant book – l sincerely hope she writes another.

The way Kathryn writes her story is searingly honest and utterly without artifice. Her bravery is what shines out for me, both in having withstood this tragedy, and for sharing it in a way that is inspiring, thought provoking, and ultimately healing. It was a privilege to be given a window into her soul.

This is a courageous book about love, loss, life. It is full of heart, humour and hope. A must read for anyone experiencing grief, which is all of us sooner or later. Thank you, Kathryn, for telling your story and Ian’s with such dignity.

I could not put this book down. It is simply a beautiful book written with such honesty, clarity and openness it evokes all manner of emotion. For those who have lost loved ones too soon and also for those around them who want to help and understand but don’t know how. An absolute MUST read.

Beautifully written, from the heart. An insight into the world of grief with a light at the end of the tunnel.
Story told with courage, love and honesty!

I know this place. It takes a very special person to be able to put this grief into words
Kathryn’s courage and dedication is evident from page one. A privilege to read; thank you.

What a beautifully written, inspirational story of a deep love and intense grief at such a young age. A real and raw realisation of how life really matters. Heartfelt, poignant and so touching. A must read.

A wonderfully written and heartfelt account. I could not put this book down. And it really does serve as a reminder to live life to the full, because sometimes life is tragically cut short.
